Certificate in Decorative Painting - How it works

The award is made on the assessment of a portfolio of work samples, amassed by the candidate, and submitted to the Faculty of Decoration for assessment. It is expected that candidates for the award will be able to demonstrate a satisfactory level of attainment.

The certificate is accompanied by a statement detailing the scope of the candidate’s work samples, enabling individuals to specialise in skills in a particular area or across a whole syllabus range.

Proficiency in the area, together with the underlying knowledge is of importance in developing a professional rapport with clients, and will be of significant benefit to those building a business and a reputation in work which ranges from domestic refurbishment through the commercial field to conservation and restoration.
